"ICT Enables Distance Learning" Just an example of what is being done in the world to spread distance learning. Found on YouTube November 17, 2007.

Then there are the research organizations, subject communities, teacher and student associations, and peer contributed collections. These will provide artcles, SCORM’s, learning content websites and repositories, and examples of what others have done with their learning content.

MERLOT -  This is a learning content community. Teachers of all kinds post learning content they have created and used, then all teachers who want or need may download or visit the material for their own. The material is peer reviewed and in most cases already tested for standards compliance. Watch the copyrights before use, they vary.

MIT OCW -  This is Massechusetts Institute of Technology’s Open Course Ware site. Most every class at MIT has its class content published here for for anyone to use. The only things missing from these classes are a teacher and degree awards. Students can, and have been known to, buy the books and work through the class material and assignments on their own.
